A major operations management information
source; more focused on shop floor functions, machinery,
CAD/CAM, and similar areas. Beginning to include some
Lean management methodology information.
American
Management Association (AMA)
Good source of information on general
management training, seminars widely available in many
cities, topics. Not specifically focused on Best
Practices, but good support for developing good
management practices which can help support a Best
Practice culture.
Association
for Manufacturing Excellence (AME)
Good source for a variety of discussion
forums, shared information and other information
supporting the development of Best Practices in a
manufacturing environment.
Best
Manufacturing Practices
This is the web site for the Best
Manufacturing Practices web site, operated by the BMP
Center of Excellence, and is funded by the Office of
Naval Research. It is free, has a downloadable database
you can use, and other resources. Much of the data is
very process-specific, as distinct from management or
work flow / process best practices.

Society for Quality
This professional association advances
learning, quality improvement, and knowledge exchange to
improve business results, and to create better
workplaces and communities worldwide.
Council of
Supply Chain Management Professionals
An association for individuals involved
in supply chain management. CSCMP provides educational,
career development, and networking opportunities to its
over 10,000 members and to the entire profession.
