While
your internal Best Practice generation program itself
cannot be outsourced, much of the support for it can be,
including:
|
· |
Getting Started
– experienced process coaching and facilitation
helps create initial momentum, early wins, help
get the team “up to speed.” |
|
· |
Education & Training
– it is essential that your people become better
educated and trained over time via work they do
themselves (one can’t become a better lawyer by
hiring a substitute to take the bar exam), the
administration and operation of the education
and training program itself can be outsourced
(more on this below.) |
|
· |
On-Going Process Support
– An experienced, impartial outside facilitator
/ coach, as a adjunct member of the team, can
keep things on track producing solid results,
week after week, month after month. |
|
· |
Trouble-Shooting
– Sooner or later, any long-term process can run
into a period of difficulty, where efforts just
don’t seem to be producing any good results. If
this happens, our in-depth, multi-faceted
experience can be bought in to assist the team
in troubleshooting the process, and get it
producing solid results again. |
Advantages & Benefits
|
· |
Flexible
– The degree of outside support for your Best
Practices program can be tailored to provide the
level needed, no more, no less. |
|
· |
Minimized Cost
– The cost of your Best Practice generation
program can be reduced substantially via
outsourced process support, including: |
| |
· |
Eliminate fixed costs
– no need for on-staff instructor(s),
administrators, or courseware specialists.
Outsourcing these means that the exact level
needed is provided, on a basis that is matched
to your Best Practice program’s scale, number of
participants, and level. |
| |
· |
Off-site collaboration
– The new, advanced web collaboration technology
used by PROACTION can be utilized at a
surprisingly low cost to allow an outside,
expert facilitator to participate effectively in
team meetings and work sessions, providing
regular, consistent support without the expense
of on-site meetings. |
| |
· |
On-Demand
Support – PROACTION Best Practice generation
resources can be made available to support your
internal program on an as-needed basis, so you
only pay for what you use, to the extent that
you use it. This can range from filling in for
an in-house leader or instructor who is on
vacation, facilitation or coaching the team
through a specific challenging, or creating new
materials. |
|
· |
Maximize Benefits
– Outsourced, specialized, tailored resources,
matched to your needs, making best use of
cost-reducing technologies can result in a
powerful, highly effective Best Practice
generation program that pays for itself many
times over each year – the kind of financial
leverage any company leader wants. |
Additional Education & Training Factors – Outsourcing Support
How We Help -
PROACTION has been in the business practices of providing
conceptual education to support improved business
process performance and generation of Best Practices for
nearly 20 years.
We
have experience with just about every way a person can
learn new ways of seeing things – workshops, hands-on
“chalk talks,” multi-day seminars, focused sessions, hot
showers (an old joke, but often a source of fresh
ideas), one-on-one talks, coaching, facilitation, just
reading books, and others.
Every
successful education and training program rests on a
solid foundation of organization and thought. PROACTION
can provide outsourced best practices support for these critical
elements of your organization's on-going education and
training program:
|
· |
Assessment
- A needs assessment by a PROACTION senior level
professional can “cut to the chase” in
developing an effective move-forward plan,
designed specifically to facilitate organizing
improvement teams, and to develop an appropriate
curriculum. |
|
· |
Curriculum planning & Management
– Your curriculum will consist of courses
specifically selected and/or designed to
strengthen and reinforce your team’s
capabilities and skills. These may be courses
we offer, from another source, created
specifically for your, or a combination of
these. Since your team’s capabilities will
become more capable over time, it is essential
that the curriculum be enhanced, while retaining
the ability for new members to ‘get up to speed”
quickly. |
|
· |
Administration
– It is vital that your education and training
program be properly administered, including
records keeping. We can do this for you at a
very reasonable cost, or assist in its setup and
operation internally. We can recommend a simple
software product to be used if your enterprise /
HR system does not include this function.
Administration includes:
· Who took which courses, when, and the results of
any tests or exams.
·
Certifications – both formal and informal.
· Current
status – when next course participation is
scheduled, certifications expire, etc. |
|
· |
Instructors
– while we recommend a “train-the-trainer”
approach wherever possible, the real world does
not always support this. We provide senior
level, subject-matter experts as instructors for
any of our courses, as well as any other course
that is part of your curriculum. The cost
depends, of course, on the presentation method. |
|
· |
Presentation Methods
– courses can be presented in a variety of ways
in an outsourced mode, including: |
|
|
· |
In-person – on-site classes via a more
traditional class-room type setting by one of
our senior level instructors. Best for
hands-on, highly interactive, lab-type courses. |
|
|
· |
Webinar – PROACTION uses the latest Web-based
technology to present courses to groups that can
be literally anywhere in the world. The cost is
surprisingly low. This technology retains the
ability of the instructor to keep track of
participant interest, lead Q&A sessions, show
results in real-time, and otherwise maintain
participant engagement much in the same way as
with an in-person class, but at a dramatically
lower cost. |
|
|
· |
Participant-driven – we can make courses
available for on-line participation using the
latest Webinar technology, on a one-person-at a
time, self-service method. A test confirms
learning. |

Criticality of Education & Training
-
While it is true that a continuous improvement program
involves much more than only an education program, it is
also true that HAVING an effective education and
training program is a requirement, a pre-condition for
on-going, sustained success in creating new Best
Practices within an organization. One simply cannot be
successful over a longer period of time without one, as
the participants “run out of gas” – out of ideas, and
become fixed in their viewpoint.
Getting “Stuck”
- When the team runs out of ideas, the “program” becomes
a “project” – start, middle, and an end, at which point
the improvement process comes to a grinding halt.
Typically, everyone believes that, in the words of the
1880 Patent office clerk “everything that can be
invented has already been invented.” This situation is
to be avoided at all costs, as re-starting the process
takes sizeable amounts of energy (read “money”) and the
alternative of abandoning improvement efforts is just a
form of corporate suicide, slow perhaps, but certain.
“Stuck” Prevention -
The only reliable way to consistently keep a work team’s
viewpoint evolving, so new ideas (from within the
company or without) are flowing at a regular rate is
education (distinct from training). Only conceptual
education, however it is accomplished, has the potential
for altering how we perceive things.
